The new dtla
THE RENEWAL OF DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES
We remember going to DTLA few years ago... it was like a noman's land. I mean there was nothing to do really, the area was dead after time work, and I wouldn't have gone there alone at night.
today the historical area of DTLA is finally going up! its awesome architecture, "art deco" buildings, theaters, trendy cool bars&restaurants, and its hype boho arts district are just the beginning of a beautiful metamorphosis. that's what we discovered last time we were in la two weeks ago and stayed in DTLA for our very first time.
929 S Broadway
We got the chance to stay two days at the god damn awesome ace hotel
The ace hotel opened in 2014 where an old theater of the broadway district stood up. the hotel gave birth to the theater and the programmation is now unbelievable. (Benjamin millepied, patti smith, pink martini, dita von teese, etc.)
we loved the rooftop, its beautiful decoration and its "make mama nice again" cocktail!
What is fabulous about los angeles is that we can come a hundreds of time we'll never get fed up, this city is always moving and you can always discover something ..
we loved this new downtown and we'll come back, once again!
